Zexion has neatly kept slate-colored hair that falls nearly to the base of his neck, his bangs covering his left eye completely. His visible eye is dark blue and usually narrowed. Clothes inconspicuous and plain, he doesn't like to be noticed very much; they are usually just jeans and a solid colored shirt. The teen gets cold rather easily, and so he tends to wear long-sleeved shirts and turtle necks throughout the year in the frozen climate of Russia.

Standing at around 5'2", Zexion has been used to his short stature for quite a long time. Overall he is a rather small person for his age, and though he is hardly insecure about it, it is an inconvenience at times. _{[see also: getting books off high shelves in the library.]}

Personality →
Zexion prefers not to talk, but when he does it is usually amiable enough and he says what he feels is necessary. Through most of his life he has interacted little with anyone, so he sometimes has difficulty adapting to social situations. He chooses his words carefully. He has a brilliant mind and spends almost all of his time reading, always collecting as much knowledge as possible; he's had many sleepless nights in this quest for information. Though he's is a bit of a closet optimist, Zexion generally isolates himself from others and dislikes being touched due to his mental condition.

For the most part, Zexion usually stays emotionally and physically detached from the people around him (though there are a few exceptions). When people he doesn't know or trust get too close he becomes very jumpy and nervous, and if he becomes too distressed he may have an attack, sometimes reliving a vivid memory of when he was sexually assaulted. This may also happen if certain parts of his body are touched, triggering a body memory - particularly his wrists. _{[no, he doesn't cut or anything like that. he was just held there for most of the experience, and being touched there reminds him.]} These happenings are somewhat rare, however.

With the medicine his doctor gives him, Zexion has an easier time staying calm when people grow near. When he's taking it he is usually more out-of-it than he normally would be, and he dislikes the fog it puts over his mind. Even on these drugs, if someone outright threatens him, he may still react negatively.

Not the type to lose his temper easily, Zexion prides himself in his patience. If someone does happen to irritate him, the boy finds an indirect way to get back at them, enjoying watching them suffer from afar rather than confronting them with outright attacks. He's more of an observer than anything else, quietly keeping tabs on everyone around him partially out of paranoia. Though he grew up without any connections to other children (too busy with his books) and only has a vague relationship with his parents (finds them to be a nuisance), at Malaise Zexion has found himself a close group of friends, and two people to love.
